Acura has unveiled its new 2014 Acura RLX at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show. The 2014 RLX is more powerful, spacious and more advanced technologically ever. The car has a single engine option, a direct-injected 3.5-liter V6 rated which generate maximum power of 310hp and its fuel economy of 20-31 mpg city and 24mpg in highway. It is mated of 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, and added with all-wheel steering with independent and continuous control of the left and right rear-wheel steering angles.
The New Acura RLX will add its highly-anticipated Sport Hybrid Super handling all-wheel Drive system to the RLX. The Acura RLX’s design utilizes 3-electric, two powering the rear wheels independently and a third integrated with the transmission and V-6 and powering the front wheels. Powering the three electric motors is a central lithium-ion battery, topped up with regenerative brakes. There is 2-driving modes, electric or gas, and a hybrid mode calling on both electric and gas power. A bilateral torque control system to generate negative or positive torque to the rear wheels.
There are LED headlights, 18-inch wheels and acoustic glass all as standard. The 2014 RLX is packed with safety features like collision mitigation braking system, airbags, camera monitoring, and lane keep assist. The 2014 RLX has achieved 5-star safety rating from the NHTSA and a top safety pick from the IIHS.
