Hero MotoCorp is undertaking a global expansion by exporting its range of motorcycles and scooters to Africa and Latin America before the end of the year. It is currently exports its wares to Sri Lanka and Nepal.

Hero MotoCorp plans to set up its assembly plants in Kenya and Nigeria, Colombia and in South America.

Hero MotoCorp Senior Vice-President (Marketing and  Sales) Anil Dua said, “By the end of this fiscal year, we would have entered a few markets in Africa and Latin America. The festive season has been good for the industry. Before it, there was an overall five per cent decline but I would expect we have come to the positive territory post festive season.”

Hero recorded average sales of 25,000 units a day during the festive period from Navratri till after Diwali,  compared to 10,000 pre-festive season.
