BMW India has confirmed its 1 Series in Indian market in 2013. It will be assembled at BMW India’s Chennai facility and currently assembles the 3 Series and 5 Series Sedans, X1 Compact SUV and X3 Diesel. The plant currently has capacity of 11,000 units per annum and it need to increase the plant capacity of production.
The 1 Series BMW is small, powerful, agile, and touted to handle. The engine is offered with 2 option, 1.6-liter petrol which has power of 136bhp and 170bhp, while 2.0-liter diesel engine is producing 116bhp, 143bhp and 184bhp depending on its variants.
The 1 Series is smalled BMW, but still it is a big car relatively. It packed with well appointed interiors and exteriors, a set back passenger cabin, and sharply chiseled rear.
The new hatchback comes in 5 styles including three door, five door, convertible, coupe and an electric version, but Indian consumers will only be able to drive three door or the five door of BMW 1 Series. The new BMW 1 Series is expected to be launch in India by September this year. The new BMW 1 Series will be available with series of Petrol and Diesel Engine.

The BMW 1 Series is expected to fall in the price range between 15 lakhs to 20 lakhs ex-showroom.
