Tata introduced its first Safari in 1998, which has become first 4×4 SUV to all household and won there hearts with its comfortable and enhanced features. Now this time Tata has come again with its new upgraded model of Safari Storme. Safari Storme was the most awaited SUV in Indian market, and finally it launched in India. Tata Safari looks majestic and has massive presence on the road. The Storme exterior is same as old safari. The traditional smiley grille has been binned in favour of a more upmarket cheese-grater grille, crested with a ‘STORME’ engraved chrome strip. Projector headlamps and a ‘power bulge’ on the bonnet.
Engine & Performance
The New Tata Safari Storme is powered by a 2.2 litre VariCOR engine, it is turbocharged by Variable Turbine Technology (VTT). An updated version of the 138bhp DiCOR, the engine delivers maximum power of 140 PS and maximum torque of 320 NM. It is a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 4X4 system.
Safety & Convenient Features
New Tata Safary Storme is not a light weight vehicle. The suspension is borrowed from Tata Aria. The steering is vague and doesn’t self centre. Tata Safari Storme has disc brakes at all 4 wheels assisted by ABS (Anti-Braking System) on all variants. The top-end model features ESOF (electronic shift-on-fly) technology, enablisng engagement of the 4×4 or 4×2 mode on the move and also equipped with a limited-slip differential.
