2010 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China 2010), which is
going to take off finally on 23rd April 2010, is set to witness the
unveiling of a series of new car models. Big automakers from around the
world has lined up to showcase their newest renditions.
BAW Beijing 007, the all new "mainstream urban SUV" from
Beijing Auto Works to be shown at Auto China 2010
Thanks to the phenomenal growth in the Chinese auto industry that even
managed to shrug off the global economic crisis by recording a sales figure
of 13.6 million vehicles this year, Auto China has now become one of the
most premiere events of the global auto industry. Major automakers that once
used to reserve their vehicle launches for the U.S. Or European auto shows,
are now planning to debut in this grand auto event.
14 such new models have been lined up to be shown at the Beijing Auto Show
2010, whereas, Chinese car makers plan to launch as many as 75 new SUVs,
sedans, and experimental alternative energy green cars among
other vehicles.
Toyota Motors will display 50
vehicles including its latest gas-electric Prius hybrid and an electric
concept car. Daimler is showing its latest ultra-luxury Maybach sedan and an
E-Class sedan designed for China with a bigger back seat for customers who
have drivers and ride in back. Among other new vehicles that are to be
launched at the Beijing Auto Show 2010 are General Motors' all-electric Volt
MPV5 concept car and GM minivan and a compact sedan by a Chinese automaker.

Beijing sees alternative energy vehicles as the future of the global
auto industry, and is pushing its own auto manufacturers to develop
cutting-edge technologies for this. However, industry analysts are of the
view that China's auto market is likely to be dominated by gasoline driven
engines for the next few years.
