Fill up your fuel tank:

Go to the fuel filling station and fill your fuel tank completely.

Reset the odometer:

If your car has an odometer, then check out how many miles you have traveled or reset the odometer back to zero.

Drive until it's time to fill up again:

Drive your car as you normally drive until your fuel gouge displays a half or quarter full tank. Check the odometer again to see how many miles have you traveled and note down that number.

Refill the fuel tank:

This time, record the litre of fuel it takes to refill up the fuel tank.

Record the mileage again:

Note down the odometer reading once again and subtract it from the first reading you noted.

Calculate fuel mileage:

Divide the figure achieved by the amount of litres of fuel you purchased second time and you will know your fuel mileage.
