A bus is a huge commercial vehicle, said to have originated in France in the year 1826 by Stanislas Baudry under the name of 'Omnibus'. The basic purpose of this vehicle is to carry the passengers as it is an easy and cost-effective medium of transport.
The major producers of buses in India are Ashok Leyland and Tata Motors whereas Swaraj Mazda and Hindustan Motors have made a big name in manufacturing mini-buses. However there are huge sub-categories of buses like Commuter Bus, School buses, Electric buses and so on. In India,CNG buses have occupied the huge market thus making it an fuel efficient and environmental friendly vehicle.
