Mahindra Thar

Mahindra and Mahindra will be releasing its sport utility vehicle Mahindra Thar very soon. After 10 years Mahindra Thar is the jeep released by the Indian auto maker. It is the reworked commander jeep which was rolling on Indian roads in the early 2000s. Mahindra Thar has already been launched in Europe and South Africa

Mahindra Thar comes with 2.5 litre CRDe diesel engine generating maximum 105bhp power at 3800rpm and maximum torque of 247Nm at 1800 rpm. It comes with five speed manual gear box and it has independent torsion bar mechanism suspension in the front and leaf spring and shock absorber in the rear. The highly articulated suspension lets the vehicle to easily run on tough roads.

The car's exterior is inherited from an earlier model of jeep, which has round headlamp and flat sided design. It has light weight and high traction 6Jx16 wheels and the model is constructed with rigidity and shock bearing capacity. The kerb weight of this vehicle is 1750 Kg and the car can accommodate two individuals.

It is a retro styled product and targets on the young buyers and Jeep fans who love adventurous drive. The price of the car is around Rs. 7 lacs and it seems to be reasonable as it has 2.5 litre diesel engine with a well built body. It comes with ground clearance of 200mm which will allow the vehicle to run well even on tough roads. White, red silver and black are the four colors available in this model at present.
