REVIEW : I'm a proud owner of M800Dx, '98 model. It gives me a great
feeling whenever i touch its steering. Recently, i took it to The Nilgiris,
around 700kms up& down from my city. There's no a single hiccups,
over-heating, dragging, noise all throughout the way! what a wonderful car
to carry me like a bird in the streadious ghat roads. It made me
jaw-dropping during the effortless turning at Hairpin bends! even i overtake
the newly launched A-Stars, Ritz's on the way. It never crave for a single
pause all the way of Mettupalayam to Ooty! Thank you Maruti, and thanks to
my favourite dealer - ABT Maruti, Trichy for their extra-ordinary support
and customer friendly service!

REVIEW : I bought a maruti 800 in December 2007.It gives me an
excellent milege of 22 kmpl. With its compact body it can snake through even
on narrow streets. Running noiseless with easy steering maruti 800 is the
best choice for the 4 wheeler starters. However, bringing this car to a
sudden halt is next to impossible which should be rectified at least in the
future manufacture.

REVIEW : I am using Maruti 800AC, purchased in Sep 2006. I am very
happy with the performance it gives. On a busy road in Kolkata, I get a
average of 20KMpl while in the last month, It had a extra ordinary
performance which I myself could not believe, It gave an average of 29.8
Kmpl., ie a constant run of 600 km in 21 litres. Thankyou Maruti. The
Problem which I faced was related to the battery. It lost its charge in 16
days when I was out of station. Can anybody suggest me the way to maintain
it. This is the area where I could not keep it up to the mark

REVIEW : This scooter has a serious starting problem. It has a tiny
battery, which has to power the starter-motor as well as a fuel pump. Yes..
It has to turn-ON an electrical fuel pump due to the front mounted petrol
tank. The battery is not designed to withstand the kind of load. I have a
scooter which has done just 200Km, but I miserably fail to get it started
every morning. The customer support guys have
taken it 4 times for repair. They claim that the scooter had been upgraded
with a higher capacity battery. I still could not get the engine started so
far..! If you are a fitness-freak who wants to build-up your thigh muscles,
go for it. You can as well get this scooter started after a hundred kicks.

the problem is a vigorous friction sound in gear box. I consulted service

harm to the gear box. Anybody knowledge in this can suggest me a solution.

body thick (approx,.1/.1.3 steel may be) when you tuch you can realize. We
can find big/luxury car but minimum cost its good for all not only for
beginners but also for matured users esp. India/Hungury. But little trouble
in comforts its from the manual steering box and soft suspention systems.

chennai are 70 % worst, the sturdy Maruti 800 on tough roads is poor, the
engine bed starts vibrating, u feel like cramped and moreover the vehicle
has low roof space, better go for Hyundai Santro that has only draw back of
mileage diff in local about 2kms and for long 5 kms with AC both in local &
long drive.

REVIEW : Well maruti is one of the premier cars of India and
probably the first car which introduced the small car segment in india. As a
economic car it is best for the people of india as it gives good mileage as
well as runs good on road, easy to maintain also. But there are several
defaults of this car also, that the body work of the car is not so good
...can easily get tampered if faced an accident, even the seats are very
low, specially for tall people....moreover.......it can be said that it is a
good start of learners and can be a 1st car for one who is switching to 4
wheelers. But I think the new segment of suzuki ie swift is a really good
car and it also favourite not only among india and asia countries, but is
presently a pottential competitor of european cars like renault, vauxhaull,
nissan and many more.....good work suzuki.....
My dad have the 2006 version of swift and before that we have the 1995 800
exchanged with a 2000 one ..... maruti is still my favourite and a cute
baby.........its easy to drive and most important that you can get a easy
service station of that anywhere.........well just one comment that maruti
udyoug should now think of changing the looks of 800 in the modern
comititive matket as now the looks are really getting grumpy.............and
is also becoming a mate of oldy ambassador whose looks and design has never
changed since it came in market..........

REVIEW : Maruti 800 is no doubt a good car for Indian economic class
but the company should provide the basic amenities for new car like number
plate, mud guards , left side mirror , many other basic things (along with
the car, free) which may hardly come around Rs 5000 all put together,
because many times these accessories are given as offer or you have to pay
depends on different dealers.

REVIEW : I think that Maruti 800 should improve with performance
other foreign companies managed to make cars which can go fast and also
carry more people. Well most of the people in India can afford such type of
cars because they are cheap but it is not comfortable to travel from one
Town to another Town are a city. Well some cars like hyundi accent can carry
luggages and also take an advantage of 5 people. Some people can't afford
more than one car so they have adjusted with one car. Small children who
have to sit on a mother's or father's lap which makes the parents ride
uncomfortable so we should think about creating a spaces car which can make
people's ride comfortable. Well people can't wear seat belts because they
have some one in their lap when an incident occurs the travelers get
dangerously injured. Some travelers die because of the car crash or other
accident. So i would like to say that the car is not comfortable to keep the
luggages and sit with people and travel with them.

REVIEW : Maruti 800 is probably the car many of us have had our
first drives and is probably regarded as one of the greatest cars in the
Indian Automobile Revolution. This car cheap to buy, cheap to run, reliable
and easy driving city car, but it is too old and outdated to be considered
as a new car.
The 800 is cramped by modern standards. The seats are reasonably low seats,
but 2-6 footers cant sit on behind the other. Interior plastics are probably
appalling at this day and age, but then the price of the car is low. Boot
space is ok for a shopping trip, but a bit problem is in case of long
journeys. Noise levels in 800 are higher s in the 800 than the alto though
it is still quite bearable.
Ride is bit bouncy and could definitely be better tuned. The suspension is
build tough and can withstand most punishments from our roads with ease.
Handling is quite good for a city car, with a small turning circle radius
and small dimension, the 800 is probably the best city car drive around. The
steering is also light and smooth in spite of not being power assisted.
E 800 is extremely frugal, and even with the ac on one can get 12-14 km pl
in the city. It is a cheaper car to run and in this day of high fuel prices,
it makes a lot of sense. The Maruti 800 is probably the one car that can be
taken anywhere without problems. The body may start rattling down after
15000 kms but it will almost never let you down. It can run long and
Maruti's service stations are almost everywhere. My experience with Maruti's
service stations is fine. Also the cost of spares is low so this is a
cheaper car to run and maintain.

REVIEW : I got my Maruti 800 in 2003. I settled for Maruti 800
because of its acceptability in the market and there is no other service
network as good as that of Maruti. It is a very city friendly, pocket
friendly 4 wheeler and you can almost manage within your small monthly
petrol budget. No car major in the industry can come near its pricing and
the service network for some more time. This is the best entry level car to
start your motoring life.

REVIEW : i am lucky to own Maruti 800 DX with 5 speed gear which was
discontinued by Maruti later. I still don't know why Maruti discontinued the
5 speed version of Maruti 800. for the last 4 years i have absolutely no
problem with this model. On the city in Trivandrum it consistently gives 20+
mileage and on highway i got 23+. My advice to all is to drive consistently
at 60 KMPH on the 5th gear to get the maximum mileage. Do not drive above
80KM as the car gets a bit unstable and wobbly. And more importantly this
car does not have the best of the security features and brakes do not work
well if you drive at higher speeds.

REVIEW : owner of 800 cc-II, 5 gear, gives excellent mileage( city
20+ kms; highways: 25 kms). Good value for money. Maruti should have
continue to manufacture these models. Braking system is bad, due to which it
can't go beyond 100 kms/ hrs, applying sudden break is an issue. But overall
it is a excellent vehicle for city driving.

Performance is superb and tyres are awesome, i even changed a tyre while

REVIEW : I purchased my first car, a Maruti 800 DX during 1999
September. Till today it is giving me a wonderful service, mileage and
maintenance. I need to go once in 3 years to authorized dealer for service.
When it was new, it used to give 15 KMPL in Chennai city roads with AC on
while on long highway drives it was giving 21 KMPL. Now after almost 70000
Km it gives around 12.5 to 13 KMPL with AC in Chennai roads. It was fitted
with MRF radial tyres. I replaced the tyres only after running 70000 km. The
only problem that one faces is with the leg space. I would recommend the 800
for any one who wants to go for a good car.
