Mercedes GLK Class is the new launch of luxury automaker under SUV segment. Combining luxury and grandeur the car is expected to be seen on Indian roads by early 2011.

The GLK-Class is an all- around performer. The car's 3.5 liter Dual Overhead Cam (DOHC) V-6 engine , can produce a power of 268bhp with a 258lb-ft torque. That's indeed capable of providing a thrilling experience to any one who drives it. Due to variable timing on both the intake and exhaust valves the peak torque is from 2400 to 5000 rpm, and the car is capable of providing a quick response at virtually any driving speed. Its 7 speed automatic transmission, eco and sport shift mode ensures maximum efficiency and performance.

The Mercedes Benz GLK Class has excellent adaptive brakes with hill start assist, automatic brake drying, predictive brake priming, antilock braking system (ABS). The car provides excellent handling because of 4matic all wheel drive, agility control suspension, trailer stability assist, electronic stability program(ESP), it helps detects wheel spin, severe under steer (plowing) or over steer (fishtailing), ESP(R) can brake individual wheels and reduce engine power to help bring the vehicle under control. The automobile is also endowed with 19 inch 10 spoke alloy wheels.

Mercedes GLK class has excellent safety features too, like 11 way air bag protection, seat belt technology and neck pro front head restraint. Its anti theft alarm with remote panic feature ensures safety from theft. Moreover, its several optional features like the ipod generation kit, kardon logic 7 surround system, keyless go, full leather seating package makes this car truly desirable.

When launched in India, the price of the Mercedes GLK Class is expected to be about Rs 43 - 47 lacs, ex showroom in Delhi.
