Renault S.A.

Renault, the French Automobile company came into existence in early 1898 and the first Renault car was test driven on 24th December of the same year. The first Renault sedan car was launched in the market in 1899 – at a time when cars were considered



During the first world war, Renault started producing military vehicles, buses, military airplanes, trucks etc, in addition to producing industrial and agricultural machinery. In 1972, Renault had a huge success with producing modern compact cars. Further, the company expanded globally into the arena of luxury and sports cars. During the course of successfully manufacturing automobiles for decades, Renault became the fourth largest car manufacturer after a commercial alliance with the famous Japanese manufacturer Nissan in 1999.

In 2005, Renault joined hands with Mahindra & Mahindra Limited to launch Renault cars in India. The partnership consolidated after the successful launch of the “Mahindra Renault Logan” in 2007. With Logan, Renault made its entry in Indian Automobile Sector.
