The JCB 4CX Excavator Loader has a fully welded mainframe and tapered beam structure that have been designed for durability, using computer analysis. This ensures correct distribution and dissipation of loader, backhoe and axle induced stresses.

It is also light in weight inspite of its strength. The Perkins `1000' series, turbo charged engine gives the machine all the power it needs. It also gives exceptional fuel efficiency, torque and high altitude performance.

Due to its 4-wheel drive, this machine has excellent mobility on both the roughest and safest terrain. High loader productivity is achieved by the proven JCB Synchroshuttle transmission with electrically selected direction changeover.

The machine is so designed that it doesn't drop any material while loading. This is ensured by its strong four ram geometry arms, self leveling parallel lift and the 45 degree shovel roll-back angle. It has a phenomenal lift capacity of 3401 kg and a 1.07 m front reach at maximum height. The machine is light, low on noise and environment friendly, conforming to CMVR pollution norms.

Engine

Transmission

Easy-to-use, column mounted electric reversing shuttle switch, can change machine direction while allowing operator to keep hands on the steering wheel, leading to fast cycle times. The pedals layout and conventional H-pattern gear lever with transmission disconnect switch adds to the overall ease of operation. On-the-move gear changes are possible. Torque converter change ratio is 2.1 : 1. Electrical selection of 4WD allows on-the-move changes.

Axles

Four-wheel drive is standard. Front and rear axles are with JCB Max-Trac torque proportioning differential. Rear : Rigidly mounted, drive axle. Front : Oscillating, drive and steer axle.

Brakes

Service: Hydraulic, multi-disc, self-adjusting on rear axle. Totally protected and oil immersed for long life and cool operations. Two independently operatable foot pedals enable machine to manoeuver in tight spaces. Option exists on the machine to automatically switch from 2 WD to 4 WD for effective transmission braking. "Compensated" brake master cylinders ensure equal braking on both axles irrespective of unequal wear of brake discs. Effective, fade free and maintenance free. Parking: Hand operated, caliper disc on gearbox.

Steering

Full power, hydrostatic , on the front wheels with manual capability in the event of engine or hydraulic power failure. Hydraulic supply from main hydraulic pump via priority valve. Working pressure 1750 p.s.i. (121 bar).

Electrics

12-volt system A heavy-duty harness with secured sealed connectors conforming to IP67 (DIN 40050) standards. Electric system is completely water proof and dust proof for trouble free operation. Cab

Curved cab glasses provide excellent all round visibility. Excellent operator safety. Conforms to ROPS and FOPS standards. Floormats and plenty of legroom minimises fatigue and allows an operator to work uninterruptedly for long hours. A fully adjustable and reclining seat and lumbar support combined with ergonomically positioned controls and soft touch steering wheel. For operator comfort, in-cab noise levels are only 76dBA – the lowest in the industry. Cab provides easy `walk through’ two door access. Other features include seat belt, large convex rear view mirrors, interior rear view mirror, interior light, front screen wiper, front and rear horns, hazard warning system, in-cab tool tray Instrumentation panel is positioned on the right side and includes engine speed, engine hours, fuel level and water temperature and gauges. Audio-visual fault warning system for alternator charge, coolant temperature, engine oil pressure, blocked air filter, transmission oil pressure and temperature and hand-brake on. Integral vandal cover on the instrumentation panel.
