Reviews on Bajaj Discover DTSi

REVIEW : I purchased the Bajaj discover DTSi (sports model) in Jan'08 only. Right from day one, I have been experiencing the problem of Low mileage (max 43 kmpl), engine noise, etc. Even after three services, I am not satisfied with the performance of the bike. I even written two big complaints to the authorised bajaj dealer, but all my efforts went on vain. For those who plan to go for Bajaj, better have second thought on that, and also look out for Honda Shine & Hero Honda Super Splendor.

REVIEW : The customer care service in Ichha Shakti Automobiles Pokhara, Nepal's showroom is the worst. I am very much dissatisfied with the service. Even the showroom doesnot clean the bike properly during free servicing. They only clean the bike in servicing. Is this the servicing Provided by the company ????? Even you have to wait longer for servicing then the deadline given by the workshop. Very unsystematic and very dirty place, conjusted and worst treatment.

REVIEW : One of the best in 125 CC segment in India. Great pickup (almost comparable to Pulsar 150CC), High fuel efficiency (60 - 65 kmpl after 2 years). My top speed was 115kmph (per speedo) & was at full control on it. Would advice anybody to buy this one if he considers 125 CC segment.
I think Bajaj could have done better with it if they had made the tyre more wide for better road grip at sudden sharp breaks. Also the suspension could have been better.

REVIEW : The bike is good. Some pieces have a problem with the mileage. I had the same in initial period. However the mileage has improved to an acceptable level (not great). Around 57-60 for 125 cc bike.
The gear box is horrible, the gears make a lot of noise and are very very hard for a new bike.
I have discussed this with the vendor and they claim that it is a common thing with the bike and will not cause a damage to the gears. I have ridden other discovers recently. They are better (not great).
It seems that the problem is specific to my bike. I am planning to raise this issue. I think Bajaj's Quality control is poor and one should be very very careful while accepting the piece. If you get a good piece, the bike is worth the buy. And yes, there is a skid problem, but bike does not go out of control.
I have never felt unsafe even when the bike skid a bit.

I go for its servicing 4 times a year as it is ridden over long distances it just rocks .greatly satisfied

REVIEW : Hey Guys This Is Arun .First of all i want to say mileage of any bike depends on the speed you are running. If you want your discover to provide mileage of 60+than drive arround 40-45. I ran my bike almost 18000 km and i am satisfied with the perfromance of my bike. Its good in pickup mileage is around 70 kmph. Draw back for this bike is nothing but it can be makeup of someones mind. Be expert in driving and be happy too . ie have even travelled long distance journey of 300 km from Jaipur to Ghaziabad. I faced no problem. Try and feel it but dont dont dont play with it its very risky it will through you .

REVIEW : Recently I bought Bajaj Discover 125CC after getting confused with this bike and Honda shine. Now the bike clocked only 250 Kms and I did not check the milage. Overall it is a good bike and having good look with black alloys and black coloured engine. The engine noise is bit high when compared to shine and gladiator. But it is certainly more powerful than its competitors. I like it.. I recommend this if you dont look for great milage.

REVIEW : I recently bought Bajaj Discover DTSi 125cc 5 months back. I have done over 7800 kms. Pick-up is good. Mileage is pretty okay. I get around 40-45 kmpl. Which is equivalent to Bajaj Pulsar 150cc. I get some noice in 1st and 2nd gear. The vehicle moves smoothly in 3rd and 4th Gear. The Bajaj Service center guys suggested that the mileage will improve after 1st service which has not happened yet. Most importantly the brakes are good ,which I frequently use while riding , because of the road condition with hell lot of signals and traffic.
Please don't go to Bajaj Discover if mileage is important.
