REVIEW:I have purhcased CB Unicorn 150cc. After a year i am facing a issue in the rear drum brakes. The brakes are not applying sharply and i am not able to control the bike even at the speed of 45kmph thats so bad.I am finding that when i apply rear brakes, the brake liner(shoes/pad) are just having very low contact with the rum and there is no proper control to sudden reduce the speed. For this i am not able to drive at average speed in the city at traffic zones due to lack of rear brake control. I am controlling through shifting the gears. This is not the regular way i feel. Can any one help me out of this.

REVIEW:I am using CB-Unicorn 150cc, its really a comfortable bike. And the mileage looks good at its level. My bike has ran 15000km.
Only the issue I am facing is rear braking system. I am not happy with it. My bike doesnt get proper control in average speed also like 45 - 50km/hr. I showed to the service center, they even changed the brake shoe after 8000km.Right now it is hardly run 3000km after replacement but still the issue is there. The braking is not sharpe I need to push the rear pedal brakes very hardly to get into control.Mechanics say that due to larger drum dia it is happening, But I feel really does it matters, cause when designing and testing they would have consider all these factors and thats obvious.
Dont know how to get out of these issue. And this is making me not to drive my bike at good speed in highways cause of lack in rear braking system.

REVIEW:My unicorn completed 4.5KM, and facing jerking issue from beginning.
I used to ride pulser150 before; the pickup of Unicorn is much lesser than any other 150cc bike. I don’t know the figure they give in specification, this is feeling I get while riding.
Once you slow down on any hump. Need to change to 1st gear, which is really very bad, Most of 150cc bikes once you start moving never need to change to 1st gear. The biggest problem I am facing from the beginning is Jerking while accelerating. I have completed 3 free services; still I am facing the issue.
If I try to accelerate fasrter, instead of increasing the speed, it start  jerking for quite some time. Which is realy dangerous while we overtake.
First three services done at Saphire Honda on Bannerghatta Road Bangalore, They don’t have any plan to rectify the jerking issue. After that I showed my bike to Ananda Honda in Silkboard for jerking issue. Little improved, But still I am facing same issue. Mechanic at Ananda Honda told, almost all unicorn have this issue and difficult to get out of it.
Many people who write review hide this fact. Due to some reason I am not feeling the shock absorber also great. I don’t rally think the bike is worth for what we are paying. Ofcource millage looks good around 50kmpl, But after paying nearly 80k with a less pick up bike, what is the use of telling Millage?
If that is the case we can go for any 125cc or 100cc bike. Many are Biased reviews, get away from them

REVIEW: I have 350cc Bullet Electra and CB Unicorn bikes, both of them are really good and well performing. In fact I feel much comfort while riding my CB Unicorn, very powerful engine and smooth firing. I did not spent even a single paise on it for maintainence. My bike gives me excellent average of 60-65km/ltr. Ghani Honda is the Authorized Dealer for Honda Scooters & Bikes in Palakkad (Kerala) and I'm quite happy with their service.

REVIEW:    Hello Wing Riders,

I am a proud owner of Honda CB Unicorn and Honda Aviator, but i am tired with the customer friendliness of Purackal Honda my dealer.

Today early morning i went to Purackal Honda Changanacherry office for doing the paid service of my unicorn and they responded to me in a very bad way.

I already heard many complaints from my friends about the quality of oil they are pouring into the engine, so i specialy told them not to do oil change, instead i will buy genuine Honda engine oil for my bike.

The person who is responsible for the service wing is completly ignorant and he tried to mislead with wrong information.

He dont even know the basic difference of Oil change and oil topup.

They were not ready to service my bike without an oil change and they responded to me in a very bad way.

When i asked him to speak politely, he throughed my owners manual to the floor and abused me with bad words. He threatened me and also challenged me to do what ever things i can do.

I am very much fustrated with the customer satisfaction of Purackal Honda. Dear wing riders please never ever go to Purackal Honda.

REVIEW: No doubt honda produces good bikes to drive on but the quality of spares used is worst and it's really very very hard to find big spares even in metros, My Unicorn's fuel tank is rusted and I'm looking for new tank, but I am unable to find it even in mumbai. I had talked to Honda's direct service center and earelier they gave me quote and when i visited them they straightly said that tanks are out of sdtock and they are not able to arrange it as earlier orders are also pending. earlier i faces same problems in arranging Bike seat & battery.these honda guys are just thinking for their profits, nobody bother about quality of parts, customer service etc. so buy only to enjoy ride !!

REVIEW: Honda unicorn is best in 150cc . It has smooth engine and due to it mono suspension it give full comfort . The only problem is that its rear tyre is not enough wide. Due to this applying only rear brake result in slipping of tyre. It mileage is best (55above) at speed between 30-50kmph and if u ride 90-110kmph then it give worst mileage of below 33kmpl. But i like my red unicorn very much than other bikes.

It seemes their maintinance persons ara not skilld upto mark.In the month of august/september there was a problem in tunning of carburator which they tried to fix but could not be done i was told that mixer screw got jammed and you need to change the carburator but how it is possible when m/cycle has run only less than 19000 km.It is strange that for a screw whole carburator they recommend to change. They told me tht it is not possible to loose the screw by themselves it is to be done from outside and it is observed that they spoiled the carbuator then I have got loosen the screw from outside and they tried to fix it but they could not able to fix it even 4 to five trials now iI want to know at wcich service centre I can get my problem to rectified. Problem is only that in the morning coke has to be applied for 5 minuets. May I request you to find tje address of the service centre where I cn get serviced my m/cylcle up to satisfactory level other wisee I like the m/cylcle very much. Waitin for your early response.

I informed the same to the service team of Honda during first FREE service. But they did not rectify the problem completely.

Then I longed a complaint for the same on Honda website. Within a week I got a call from the dealer(Sarayu Honda - Panvel). He asked about the problem and I was given special attention. I could not believed that My bike was attended in front of me & the manager by A team of mechanics, and I got it rectified within 10 minutes.

They handle bike roughly & if anything goes wrong as service stage will never own their mistake & blame it on the customer stating, this problem existed before they received the bike.....really pathetic. Management should inform them proper After Sales Service so as to not to loose out on customers who trust Honda brand.

REVIEW : I've been using the Honda Unicorn for around 1.5 yrs now...Its been darn good till now....People say that the braking is poor....but I say they are ignorant....The Unicorn's braking system....is designed 60%Front brakes and 40% back brakes....Try and master this, and you get a cool smooth controlled stop ...everytime...The mileage has been good...55Kmpl in cities...and 60Kmpl on highways....The pickup is lesser than the Pulsar....But the top speed is excellent...Disadvantages ...will be mainly the poor service....I don't think there is even a single Honda Showroom that is good ...I mean all over India....They manage to give consistently bad service...Last time I serviced it at a Honda Service Station.....I got squeaky sounds from the back brake....no back brake light..lesser pickup..I here that you get the service manual for the HONDA UNICORN.....If I had that I would get things done personally...than trust a HONDA service man...Anyway ..as a review...the bike is overall good...and real good for long drives.....its softer on the back....and you dont get shoulder pains after a drive...I drive once in a month to home..which is 170KM away....But its not that sporty looking as the pulsar....I bought the Unicorn...because of its height...(I am 6'3")...Its weight which contributes to high-speed stability....and the name-tag HONDA....After all these days of driving the UNICORN...I regret only the service...

REVIEW : My unicon has a similar problem like Russel's. I am with this Unicorn for almost 3 years now. Ever since I purchased it, I couldnt enjoy smooth riding at least for the first half an hour of every start. In other words, I need to put the choke in on position for the first half and hour or so. Else bike shows some kind of missing feel and stops. Its runs OK if I pull the choke. The bike tends to stop while riding and give us the feeling that petrol or air flow is not proper. It can even cause an accident. I have complained about this ever since my first service in Haiku Honda, Bangalore. They dint help at all in the 6 services that followed. The bike had warranty for first two years but that was of no help too.  Now it is close to 3 years old and still has the same problem. I have tried everything like Russel but no luck.Have used almost 7 different bikes since 1992 and this is the worst situation I ever came across. Does anyone knows the real solution? Dont suggest me cleaning the carburetor, air pipes, petrol tanks, etc. Its all tried many time.

Engine is good but quality is bad(HONDA is doing this brainless job by selling there name....so bad).Indians like honda because of it's work but they are neglecting them by supplying poor quality bikes. If they improve in this aspect and advertising they will lead Indian bikes simply

REVIEW : I have a problem with my Honda unicorn the bike. The bike starts but the moment I accelerate the engine stops. In the rainy season, this gets worst. Some time during travel if I change the gears the moment I leave the clutch the engine stops and jump-starts. The service center does not seem to have an answer to the problem. I have tried changing the spark plug, cleaning the tank, cleaning the carburetor, changing the diaphragm in the carburetor. Engine de-carb. Nothing seams to work. The worst thing is the problem is not consistent. Does not happen all the time, which makes me look like a fool at the service center.

REVIEW : bought on : Apr 2008 ,...hey guys.. its a good byke as its famous for the 1st class comfort that it gives. also the braking system is awesome. The only problem that i am facing is of mileage. It has been almost 4 months and i already got 2 services from the company. Still it is giving me only 40km/l. On the first day i tried to reach 100km/hr so is that the reason I'm not getting good mileage?? I made sure to ride between 50-70 km/hr after that still im getting low average?(40) any ideas guys as to why it is so?? pls help

The insulation covering of wiring on handle have been cut short and wires exposed and has similarity with clowns in tamil films having their underwear exposed. Thought HONDA a world class bike but am very much dissatisfied. The front No Plate provided by dealer is hidden behind headlight. HONDA INDIA whats happenning. Your bike site has conked off.

REVIEW : Hi guys, I am planning to buy a Honda Unicorn here in Mauritius. However, i am now wondering about making a few modifications to mak it suit my needs and reach top performance: First - put larger wheels [e.g. 3.50!!! Is it possible by removing the chain protection case?] Second - Remove the mud guard at the back to make it look sporty Third - Change the color of the stickers and set the bike to a single color with the Honda logo. Fourth - Add orange [repsol like] color to the alloy [or conventional] border of wheels. Fifth - Add a plastic, sporty cover to protect the below of the engine where the exhaust exits the engine and passes below it. A triangular-formed one would look great. I have seen so many beautiful bikes being modified, example the CBX250 twister of Honda [see http://www.bikepics.com/pictures/439828/] Well any comments would be appreciated from you bikers.. :-). REVIEW : I have honda unicorn for last two years, i really attracted with the mono soccer. Its making riding very comfortable but its body is very light weighted specially the back portion.its very weak it got broken. The back tyre should be wider according to its 150cc. The head should be bigger according to its fuel tank. You have written that its max speed is 101kms, but crossed 120kms. I suggest that unicorn should be 200 or 250cc.

REVIEW : Dislikes in Unicorn
1)I own unicorn bike, as for as monosuspension it really works good but the front suspension is too bad. whn ever road is not smooth number plate of bike will hit the mudgaurd of front wheel because the front suspention of bike not high enough.
2)Recently the Stickers which are used are very bad to see.(horrible) to see
3)When it comes to Mileage Unicorn gives only 45km if we drive at constant 60Km/hr. If we drive at 120 Km/hr it will give only 18 KM mileage.
4) Horn, which we receive with the bike is totally waste.Even the person standing next to the bike can't hear the sound.
5)weight of the bike is heavy
6)Tank of the bike is very very big.

Good feature in unicorn
1)Monosuspention
2)Height of the bike is really good. For short people its hard.
3)Speed of the bike is comparitively outstanding, when compared with other 150 cc bikes.
4)Since it has monosuspention cleaning of the bike is easy.
5)Grip of the bike good.

REVIEW :
Best feature:
1) Riding comfort: It provide good riding comfort than other competitor, i.e pulser, Achiever etc.
2) Pick up: Very good pick up.
3) Price: It is almost equal or higher than other equivalent model of competitor.
4) Strong body & shock absorber
5)Very good self starter
6) Normal mileage ( 55-58km/Liter)

Poor feature/need to improve:
1) Alloy wheel option is not available.
2) Size of head light reflector is small. Focus of head lamp for visibility is poor to normal. Parking light in head lamp is not available.
3) Option in color is limited.
4) Graphics is not in proper matching with available colors.
5) Design of side stand is very poor; it seems just like of ladies moped side stand. See design from "LML Freedom Topper" with interlock from gear.
6) Pillion (back rider) feels more jerk & shocks as compared to rider. Back shock absorber not soft at soft mode setting. It may be also due to design of seat.
7) Rear size of tyre is 3.00", it must be 3.50" as per weight & width of bike.
8) Length of tail light is more than protecting metal strip so it may brewage when back side is hit by vehicle or wall.
9) There is no provision to hang side bags or box.
10) Gear changing bar is not comfortable & indicator is required for top gear.
11) Gear leaver & right foot rest is not aligned, also in right side rear break & right foot rest is not aligned.
12) Engine stop switch is not available.
13) Looks of odometer is good but daily reading option in odometer is not available.
14) Horn is very weak.
15) Honda UNICORN have very low company fitted accessory, bare minimum necessary item must be fitted from company, i.e. leg guard, both number plates & Buzzer.
16) Unicorn with self start model make a sound (cuttt…) when we off engine.
17) Back mud guard length is less in internal side; it must be at least bottom part of back suspension so mud & dust would not spread surrounding area.
18) Choke lever is hard to move.
19) It is more wide in back side so silencer touches when passing from narrow space.
20) Looks of fuel tank is not beautiful or in good shape

REVIEW : Hi this is sunny from Ludhiana (Punjab) . I want to share my views with you...

1st the sport of back wheel is good but the problem is that there is less space for fitting broad tyre so please increase the space by which we young generation can make our bike more beautiful by using broad tyres.

2nd increase the displacement cc of the bike atleast 200cc that a bike can generate more power.

3rd increase the length of bike upto some extent.
4th make the back portion more sharp and give some thin look from side view. Well i have such keen interest in drawing, designing new models in this biking stream and i have so many designs in my mind and on sheets which can give a new, spontaneous and catching attraction to the viewers.

REVIEW : I own a Honda Unicorn since Jan 2005 and I exchanged my 5 year old splendor with this. I was really in a confusion to select a good bike for my daily use which would give me good ride quality, very good performance having no compromise to handsome mileage & and after all what boys like me look in a two wheeler of course we will give priority for the looks of own bike. This priority made my mind to hang on Bajaj Pulsar DTSi. But I heard Honda"s bike is to be launched. At the same time I also enquired about our famous Bullet STD also. But due to the experience of one friend of mine who is really having trouble with his Bullet; I didnt opt for it. At last I went for the Honda. After all my old splendour was also a honda collaboration. So coming to Unicorn I would recommend this bikes power, looks, mileage, Honda"s great engineering magic and the mono suspension which all bikes in India lacks. The complaint I have with this bike is its always shivering front bikini faring and the silencer vibration which I experienced in a long trip. Manufacturers pls note to overcome the complaints.
