The well known trend setter in the field of automobiles, TVS, has something again in store for all the sports bike lovers around the country - the all new TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS. TVS would be launching the bike in collaboration with Continental AG, Germany – a well-known name in chassis organizing system.

The ready to be launched model TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS, is the first of its kind in India, that includes the ABS technology i.e. Anti-lock Brake System. The system would be a boon in situations which demand hard braking or while driving on damp and slippery roads. It would help prevent imminent wheel lock and any disbalance. The TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS has also been fitted with a modern Hydraulic- Electronic Control Unit (HECU), supported by speed sensing machinery.

Powering the bike is a single cylinder, four stroke engine of capacity with a displacement of about 177.4cc and the maximum output of 17.3bhp@8500rpm. The ground clearance lies at about 180mm. And the maximum speed is 125kmph. The fuel consumption rate is 39km/L in city and 47km/L on highways.

The model has a length of 2085mm; width of 730mm and stands to a height of 1100mm. The front suspension of the TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS is a telescopic forks type, while the rear suspension is of rectangular swing arm type. The colors available would be white, grey, yellow and black. The bike is expected to be launched into the Indian bike market by early 2011, with an expected price between Rs. 70 - 80 thousand.
