Vectra Group

The company has 3 joint ventures in India. Vectra group consists variegated group of companies involved in manufacture of construction equipment, trucks, buses and automotive parts. It is all managed by non resident Indians. The core businesses of the Group are Engineering, Material Handling & Construction Equipment, Automotive and Real Estate, Information Technology & Services sectors. Major operations of the group are primarily in India and Eastern Europe spanning over 20 companies with 8 manufacturing facilities in 6 countries. Along with this, it has representative offices in France, Russia, Singapore and Hungary with the Group’s headquarters in the U.K. Since end 2002, Terex corporation and Vectra Group have become the principal shareholders of Tatra a.s. Terex corporation, that is the worlds 3rd largest manufacturer of construction equipment.

Terex Vectra Equipment (P) Limited

It is a new entrant to the Indian market in the construction equipment market. This is a 50:50 joint venture between Terex Corporation, USA and Vectra Limited, UK. Established in May, 2004, the company consists world class manufacturing Greenfield facility at Greater Noida with an initial investment of 12 million USD. It manufactures and sells construction equipments like backhoe loaders, skid steer loaders, vibratory compactors and midi excavators to Indian consumers. By the year 2004, the company has already sold about 325 units of backhoe loader and after reached 400 unit mark by the end of 2006. Major export areas are SAARC countries, Nepal, Middle East countries, USA, Canada, Indonesia and far east. The company's product range includes: Eighteen to 82-seater single and double decker buses, Vestibule buses, Haulage vehicles in capacities ranging from 7.5 to 49 tonnes, Diesel engines for industrial, marine and gen set applications.

Tatra Vectra Motors Limited

TVML is the result of a joint venture between Tatra a.s. of Czech Republic (a part of Terex corporation, USA) and the Vectra Group. Established in July 1997, the company is an ISO 9000 certified manufacturer. The manufacturing plant is located in Hosur, Tamil Nadu which is fully integrated plant having facilities like engine assembly and testing plant, a cabin welding shop, a frame fabrication shop and a test track. Tatra trucks are based on the unique "Tatra Design" that features a spine tube frame with a covered central tube carrying the drive line and independently swinging half-axles.

Vectra Azad Engineering Private Limited

This is the result of a joint venture between Vectra Group, UK and the Azad Group, India for the manufacture of automotive superstructures such as truck bodies and cabins for the Indian and export markets. Situated at Bangalore, the company manufactures tipper trucks, sub frames, chassis, truck trailers and railway coaches. Along with this, the company supplies high quality truck bodies to Vehicle Factory Jabalpur, Ashok Leyland and BEML.
