Hippo Tractor has been designed and developed by Ashok Leyland into the special vehicles category. This is a multi-purpose vehicle and is highly versatile. The vehicle is used for applications like acid tankers, containers, transit mixers, LPG tanker, self loading crane, recovery truck and many more.

Hippo tractor operates with a AL 680 TCAC diesel engine with a maximum power of 238 PS @ 2200 rpm. The vehicle is also featured with a constant mesh gearbox with crawler gear including six forward and two reverse speed gears. The vehicle comes with a single plate dry type clutch.

Hippo tractor is well equipped with an integral power steering along with dual line full air brakes. The vehicle runs at a maximum speed of 49 km/h.
